How To Create a Quote in Tradify Web

Learn more about the various ways of creating Quotes in both Tradify Web and Mobile.

At Tradify, we've made it flexible to suit a variety of workflows. When creating Quotes, you can use the following five ways:

  1. Creating a Quote from the Quotes Dashboard.
  2. Creating a Quote from a Job.
  3. Creating a Quote from the Dashboard.
  4. Creating a Quote within a Customer Profile
  5. Creating a Quote from an Enquiry.

Creating Quotes from the Quote Dashboard

Note: This process is recommended if you'd prefer to create a quote before creating a job.

To create a quote in Tradify, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Tradify account and navigate to the "Quotes" section.
  2. Click the "New Quote" button to start a new quote.
  3. Enter the details of your quote, including the customer's name and contact information, the services you'll be providing, and the pricing for each service.
    If you have any additional notes or terms and conditions for the quote, you can add them in the designated fields.
  4. Review your quote to make sure all the information is correct, and then click the "Save" button to save your quote.

That's it! Once you've saved your quote, you can send it to your customer for review and approval.

Important Note: Once you've created the quote, Tradify will ask if you'd like to create a job based on the details of the quote. If you select "Yes", Tradify will automatically take you to the Job.

Creating Quotes from a Job

Note: This process is recommended if you'd prefer to create a Job, before creating a quote. 

To create a quote from within a Job:

  1. Log in to your Tradify account and navigate to the "Jobs" page.

  2. Find the job that you want to create a quote for and click on it to open the job details.

  3. On the job details page, click on the "Create Quote" button.

  4. The quote creation form will open, allowing you to enter details about the quote, such as any materials or labour required for the job.

  5. Once you have entered all of the necessary information, you can preview the quote to ensure that it is accurate and complete.

  6. When you are satisfied with the quote, click the "Create Quote" button to save it. The quote will be automatically linked to the job and can be accessed from the "Quotes" page in your Tradify account.

 

 

 

Creating Quotes from the Dashboard

To create a quote from your company Dashboard:

  1. Head over to Dashboard.
  2. Select the + icon.
  3. Select New Quote.

  

 

Creating Quotes from the Customer Profile

You can also create quotes directly from within the customer profile.

To do so:

  1. Go to Customers.
  2. Select the relevant Customer.
  3. Select the Quotes tab.
  4. Select New Quote.

 

Creating a Quote from an Enquiry

You can simply create a quote from an Enquiry which makes communicating with potential customers more efficient.

To create a Quote from Enquiries:

  1. Log in to your Tradify account and navigate to the "Enquiries" page.

  2. Find the enquiry that you want to create a quote for and click on it to open the enquiry details.

  3. On the enquiry details page, click on the "Create Quote" button.

  4. The quote creation form will open, allowing you to enter details about the quote, such as the job name, customer, and any materials or labour required for the job. 

  5. Once you have entered all of the necessary information, you can preview the quote to ensure that it is accurate and complete.

  6. When you are satisfied with the quote, click the "Create Quote" button to save it. The quote will be automatically linked to the enquiry and can be accessed from the "Quotes" page in your Tradify account.

Understanding What Each Field Means

Customer  Enter the customer this quote is for.  This field cannot be left blank. If this quote is for an existing customer search for the customer by typing in the customer field.

Note: If this quote is for a new customer, click the '+' icon to create the customer from scratch. You can find out more about entering a new customer here

Site - Use this if your customer has separate physical locations and you wish to record which customer location this quote is at. For more information on setting up and configuring sites, please see here.

Pricing Level - Use this field to determine which pricing-set to charge on this quote. For more information on setting up and configuring Pricing Levels, please see here.

Quote Date – The date of the quote. This defaults to today.

Due Date The date at which the quote expires.

Note: This defaults to today’s date + the number of days specified in your Default Expiry Days setting. You can find out more about quote Settings here.

Reference – A customer reference or order number.

Document Theme - This represents the quote layout theme to use when printing or emailing this Quote to a customer. You can find out more about Document Themes here.

Description – Use this field to enter a description of what the quote is for or the work to be done.

Notes - Use this section to add notes and/or files to your quote. For more information on attaching files, please see here.
