Importing Customers From Xero To Tradify

Permissions (87).png

Tradify offers the ability to import your customers directly over from Xero via the click of a button.

Important Note: Tradify can only import customers that have been given 'customer' status in Xero. If contacts aren't importing over, it's likely that they've yet to be given a status. By default, Xero will assign the contact a status once an invoice or bill has been created against the contact.

Example:
  • If an invoice is assigned to the contact, they'll be turned into a 'Customer".
  • If a bill is assigned to the contact, they'll be turned into a "Supplier".

How to import customers from Xero

  1. Head over to  Customers.
  2. Select Import/Export.
  3. Select "Import Customers from Xero.
Note: Depending on the size of your supplier list, the import may take a minute to complete. If the import is taking more than 5 minutes, please refresh the page.
Important: When you import customers from Xero, any matching customer records in Tradify will be updated with the information from Xero. This means that customer details you've added only in Tradify (such as contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, or addresses that don't exist in Xero) may be replaced. To avoid losing information, make sure any important customer details are also saved in Xero before importing.
