In Tradify, the Price Line Items (PLI) feature allows you to create and manage items for your projects.
Accessing PLI Categories:
To access PLI categories, follow these steps:
- Go to the Settings section.
- Select Price List.
- Select the Price List Categories tab.
Adding PLI Categories:
To add a Price List Category:
- Head to your Settings.
- Select Price List.
- Select the New drop-down menu.
- Select New Price List Category.
- Name the category.
- Select Save.
When adding a new PLI, you can assign it to a category. This will help you categorise your PLIs according to their type or purpose.
For instance, if you're an electrician, you might create categories such as "Cables," "Switches," and "Outlets" to organise your price list items efficiently.
Deleting Categories
If you wish to remove a category that is no longer needed, proceed with caution. Deleting a category will permanently delete it. You cannot delete a category where the PLIs have been used somewhere (for example: in an invoice).
To delete a category, follow these steps:
- Go to the PLI settings section in Tradify.
- Go to the Price List Categories section.
- Find the category you want to delete and click on the x button next to it.
- Confirm your deletion.
Archiving Categories
If a category is linked to PLIs or other elements in Tradify, you won't be able to delete it directly. Instead, you can archive the category to remove it from the active view. Archiving a category will prevent you from accidentally assigning new PLIs to it, but it will retain all the existing PLIs within the category. To archive a category, follow these steps:
- Go to the PLI settings section in Tradify.
- Click on PLI categories.
- Find the category you want to archive and select it.
- In the category's modal, switch the toggle to archive or restore the category.
Editing Categories
Please note that once you create a category, it cannot be edited. Therefore, it is essential to name your categories accurately from the start. However, you can still manage the PLIs within each category, allowing you to keep your organisation up to date.
