How to add a Discount on Quotes or Invoices

There are 2 ways to add a discount to your quotes and invoices, 

  1. Using a Percentage(%) discount .
    OR
  2. Deducting a set amount($), e.g. adding a credit line added to an invoice .

 

How to Add Percentage Discounts

You can either add a % to a selection of items, or all items. 

  1. Inside a Quote or Invoice, add your line items in at full price.  
  2. Add the percentage in the 'Discount' column (Each item must have the discount applied separately).

  3. Click on the 'Preview' tab to see what it will look like for your customer.

Adding a Set Amount Discount

You can also add a negative line item to a Quote or Invoice to look like a credit, voucher or specific value discount. 

  1. Add your line items and then a Miscellaneous item to be your discount. 
  2. Customise the item 'Description', then add a hyphen '-' before the value to change it to a negative amount. Screenshot 2023-08-30 at 4.34.41 PM.png
  3. Click on the 'Preview' tab to see what it will look like for your customer

Can't see the Discount column in your Quote or Invoice? It might be a hidden column.

If you're using a Percentage Discount, you can choose whether you want to show/hide the line item discount from the customer in Document Themes
