Why can't I group line items when invoicing a percentage of a quote?

If you're creating a Percentage invoice from a Quote and you notice that the Group into one line item option is greyed out, this is because Tradify doesn’t allow line items to be grouped into a single line when the Quote contains multiple tax rates.

Tradify needs to show the line items separately on the invoice so the appropriate tax is calculated correctly against each line, as grouping them into a single line item would cause issues with tax reporting and compliance as well as how the invoice would sync to accounting integrations.

What can I do in this instance?

You have two options:

1. Keep the line items separate when creating the partial invoice to ensure all tax rates are applied correctly.

2. If all items should share the same tax rate, cancel the invoice creation and return to your quote to adjust the line items to the same tax rate.
