Copying Bill Items to Costs (Desktop)

You can copy all line items from a job's bill to that job's costs. Here's how, from your desktop.

To copy bill items to costs, the bill needs to be attached to a job, and it needs to be a draft / not approved yet. You can also copy single line items from a job's bill to that job's costs.

1. On the Jobs_dashboard.png Jobs dashboard, go to the job where the bill you want to copy is.
You can also create a new job — See Creating Jobs

2. On the bills tab, click New_Bill_button.png to create a new bill.

3. Complete the new bill's details, and click Approve_button.png to approve it.

4. (If applicable) Click Yes_button.png on the pop-up to assure the bill approval.

5. You can customize your copy's details on the pop-up, then click Copy_Bill_button.png to make the copy.

 

Bill Items to Costs: Color Codes

On your bill, each of your listed line items will have a color dot:

- A green dot means the item is copied to costs.

- A red dot means the item is not copied to costs.

On the bills tab, each of your listed bills will have a color dot:

- A green dot means all items in the Bill have been copied to costs.

- A half-green dot means some items in the Bill have been copied to costs.

- A red dot means no items in the Bill have been copied to costs.

You can copy all line items from a job's bill to that job's costs. Here's how, from the mobile app.

To copy bill items to costs, the bill needs to be attached to a job, and it needs to be a draft / not approved yet. You can also copy single line items from a job's bill to that job's costs.

1. On the Jobs_dashboard__Mobile_.png Jobs dashboard, go to the job where the bill you want to copy is.

2. On the bills tab, tap New_Bill_button__Mobile_.png to create a new bill.

3. Complete the new bill's details, and tap Approve_button__Mobile_.png to approve it.

4. (If applicable) Tap APPROVE on the pop-up to assure the bill approval.

5. Tap YES on the pop-up to confirm the copy.

6. You can customize your copy's details, then tap Done_button__Mobile_.png to make the copy.
