Add Material costs to Bills

Tradify provides the ability to add two types of material costs on a Bill. The first and most commonly used are Price List Items. These are items that have already been entered into your system with set preferences. You can find out more about Price List Items here.

The alternative to Price List Items is Miscellaneous Costs. These items are stand-alone and are best used in one-off scenarios.

Add Price List Items to Bills

  1. Head to the Purchases page from the left hand navigation bar.
  2. Select any of the bill tabs.
  3. Search and select the bill you want to add items to or select New Bill to create one.
  4. Select the Add Line Item button.
  5. Select Price List Item.
  6. Use the Item Code field to search for your the Item you need.
    Note: When using the search function, you can either search by the item code or item description.

Add Miscellaneous Items to Bills

  1. Head to the Purchases Page from the left hand navigation bar.
  2. Select any of the bill tabs.
  3. Search and select the bill you want to add items to or select New Bill to create one.
  4. Select the Add Line Item button.
  5. Select Miscellaneous Cost.
  6. Type in the details of this one of cost.

Item Fields

The below fields will so when entering an item:

Field Description
Description Can be amended to include information specific to the Bill. (200 characters limited).
Quantity Field to increase or decrease the quantity of the item.
Unit Price To change the buy/cost price of the item.
Discount % To add a percentage discount to this item.
Amount Tradify will automatically calculate the amount total for you, this is based off your quantity multiplied by your unit price.
Tax Rate Select the tax rate that applies to this line item. If left blank, Tradify will assign the default tax rate. See more on this here.
Account

Assign an account code that applies to this Item. (If you're not integrated with an accounting system, leave blank).
