What are release notes?

We are regularly updating Tradify and making it better to help you manage your business, and our release notes ensure you stay up to date with these enhancements. Release notes are a log of new features, improvements, bug fixes, and performance updates in each of our software releases. They help you stay informed about improvements and changes within Tradify that may impact your workflow. Keeping up to date helps ensure you’re using the latest tools efficiently, and avoid surprises. 

January

January 13, 2025

Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• SmartWrite is now included on the Plus features list within the Choose Your Plan page, including hover-over text for additional details.
• Fixed an issue in the search functionality, when the search function was meant to search word-by-word but was instead searching for the entire text. This has been updated to correctly process each search word individually, improving search accuracy and functionality.
• We have added a total due amount on invoice overdue and unpaid invoices lists, allowing you to easily see outstanding payments.
• We have added a total counter for all tabs on the customer view (Excluding ‘Information’)
• New staff members will now have ‘Basic’ permissions by default, this includes ‘Jobs’ & ‘Timesheets’ permissions. Previously they would also have ‘Invoice’ permission.

Mobile App Version 7.30.0

SmartWrite (available on Plus Plan):

• Placeholder text has been added to the Draft Quote description field when empty, encouraging users to try the SmartWrite feature.

Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• Fixed an issue where the mobile keyboard was blocking Quick Note’s text area.
• New staff members will now have ‘Basic’ permissions by default, this includes ‘Jobs’ & ‘Timesheets’ permissions. Previously they would also have ‘Invoice’ permission.

Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• Email field is now prepopulated on the NZ Electrical Certificate.
• We have disabled new Northern Territory Certificate of Compliance forms from being created. Users still retain the ability to edit/preview/print any existing forms.

• Added a Due Date filter to the Unpaid and Overdue tabs on the Invoice list screen, along with displaying the filtered total due amount at the top right.
• Fixed a spelling mistake on Landlord Gas Safety and Boiler Record Certificates.

• Updated the tooltip within the appointment modal so it now shows a preview of the text (SMS) reminder message.

Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• Added a “Licence Number” field to the staff member “Personal Information” section.
• Added the ability to prepopulate forms & certificates with the staff licence number when applicable.
• Fixed an issue where the error message "customerSMSEnabled is required" prevented companies from creating and scheduling Recurring Job types. This issue previously affected all countries where SMS was not enabled.

• Added the ability to create a job task when scheduling a job appointment

Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• Enhanced the job search and filtering functionality by including additional customer location fields alongside site names.
• Resolved a crash issue when adding new options in the customer autofill field.
• The address from an enquiry is now copied to both the physical and delivery addresses.
• Improved error messages so the wording dynamically adjusts for singular and plural forms.

Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

• The "Accept Quote" button is now disabled when a Quote includes only optional items. Ensuring customers select at least one option in order to proceed.

• Added the ability to send confirmation emails after an appointment has been saved, so long as a confirmation email has not already been sent.

New Features & Enhancements:

• Increased the text limits with the ‘Description of works’ field on QLD Certificate of Testing.
• Added the ability to bulk Mark invoices as paid.
• Added brief explanations for different settings within the settings page that didn't have any yet.
• Creating a Bill via SmartRead now automatically adds a Note with the scanned bill attached and adds “Source Document” as the description. Furthermore, syncing bills to accounting software now automatically includes the scanned bill.

• Add the ability to auto-fill company licence numbers on forms & certificates.

• The Appointment modal now displays the customer name as a clickable hyperlink, which opens the Customer Information modal.

• The accounting integration modal no longer pops up after bulk marking invoices as paid
• Fixed a broken help article link on the ‘Add a connection’ window.
• Fixed an issue where the counter in the Job status drop down wouldn't update when changing a jobs status within the list view.

Mobile App Version 7.40.0

• When a staff member is assigned a To-Do task, they will now receive a push notification with the option to open the To-Do Details screen directly from the notification. This will only occur if the staff member’s Mobile App Job and To-Do Alerts toggle is turned ON.
• The creator of the To-Do task is now displayed as “Entered By,” similar to how job tasks are shown.
• Resolved the follow issues with scrolling in the To-Do List:
  • After scrolling down the list and switching to another tab, the focus will now return to the top of the list as expected.
  • Resolved an issue on iOS where scrolling the To-Do List sometimes wouldn't work.

• Fixed an issue where text entered or pasted in the 'Description' and 'Notes' fields on iOS could move outside the visible area, making it appear to disappear.

• Fixed an issue where the system failed to prevent users from losing unsaved inline line item description changes in quotes if they navigate to another page.

• Fixed an issue where selecting a customer with different tax settings on a quote wouldn't immediately update the tax field until the page was refreshed.
• Fixed a problem where adding a new address to a customer on quotes and invoices wouldn't properly display the new address after saving.

• Fixed an issue that allowed users to manually edit Gross Profit and Amount values on the Jobs miscellaneous cost modal.
• Updated the version of ImageMagick image processing library. ImageMagick is used to convert HEIC image files to JPEG thumbnails for note attachments.

• Fixed an issue on quotes and invoices that occurred when you select an item from “browse price list” and the incorrect tax rate was applied. Now the tax rate is selected from settings > price list, not settings > tax default.

• Fixed a bug that was causing customer imports between different Tradify accounts to fail, due to incorrect handling of Tradify ID values in the imported file.

Mobile App Version 7.57

• Adjusted the warning message that appears when creating invoices from quotes with options:   “ Quotes with options are not supported on mobile”
• Fixed and issue where the "Send Invoice" modal popup was appearing after selecting "remember choice".

• Fixed an issue where the loading animation was not displayed when “taking onsite payments”.
