How to Create Customers on Tradify Web

Learn how to create Customer profiles in Tradify Web with this guide, covering all methods and locations to help you quickly add new Customers to your account. 

Creating Customers in the Customer Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Customers.
  2. Select New Customer.
  3. Add the customer details and Save.

Creating Customers from the Jobs, Quotes and Invoices

  1. Navigate to the Jobs, Quotes or Invoices page and create one.
  2. From the new Document/Job, either start typing into the main customer field and select to add the customer using the blue drop down option OR select the + Icon at the end of the field to create a customer and fill in all the fields for that customer as required.

Customer Profile Fields

Below is a list comprehensive list of what each field represents on the customer profile.

Field Contents/Function
Customer Name Name of the customer/company. This will be used on any related Job, Quote and/or Invoice (This is a mandatory field. You cannot save the customer profile without giving it a name. This Field also has a 100 character limit).
Contact Name Use this field if you have a primary contact for this customer/company.
Phone Primary phone number.
Mobile Primary mobile number.
Fax Primary Fax Number.
Email Address Primary email for the customer record. (If you are not integrating with Xero you can enter multiple email addresses, separated by commas, limited to 50 characters).
Physical Address Use this field to enter the physical address of the customer/company. (Tradify will use the Physical Address as the default address on the Job).
Postal Address Used this field to enter the postal address of the customer/company.
Pricing Level

Use to determine which pricing set to charge on this Job. (For more information on setting up Pricing Levels, please see here).

Default Invoice Due Date

The date at which invoices associated with this customer will be due for payment.

Document Theme

This represents the invoice layout theme to use when printing or emailing this invoice to a customer. (You can find out more about Document Themes here).

Tax

Select the tax rate that applies to this customer. If left blank, Tradify will assign the default tax rate. (For more details on tax rates, please see here).

Lead Source This shows how the customer found your business, e.g. through a website, word of mouth, job sign writing, or social media.
Custom #1 - #4 Use these fields to add information specific to the customer that you wish to record on the job. (For more information on setting up and configuring Custom fields, please see here. This Field has a 100 Character Limit).
Important Note: Whenever a customer is added to a Job, Quote, and/or Invoice, Tradify will automatically populate the corresponding fields with the information input here. If you leave these blank, Tradify will use the company defaults (configured in your settings).
