Recurring Jobs function provides an easy way to automatically create Jobs on a continuous frequency.
Creating a Recurring Job
To create a recurring Job, head over to Jobs and then select "New Recurring Job". Input all the relevant details and then click "Save" to finalise.
Important Note: Once you've created your recurring Job template, Tradify will automatically start creating Jobs based on the template preferences.
Additionally, once the Recurring Job template has been created, any alterations made to a Job record will not affect the Recurring Job template that the Job was created from. In addition, changes made to the Recurring Job template are not retrospectively applied to existing Job records that have been created from the template, they will only apply to new Jobs generated after the change is made.
Note: Below is a comprehensive list of each field and what they represent.
Job Type Options:
- Create and Schedule Job - This setting will create the Job and schedule any corresponding appointments into the Scheduler (according to the frequency set).
- Create and Assign Job - This settings creates the Job and assigns it to a Staff Member (does not schedule).
- Create Job Only - This setting creates a Job record only.
Note: If the date you specify does not occur in a given month, the last day of the month is used instead (February doesn't have 29th, 30th, 31st, so instead it'll be set to the 28th).
- Daily - This setting allows the Job to be created on a daily basis (according to the number of days entered in the following "Every" field).
- Weekly - This setting allows the Job to be created on a weekly basis (according to the number of weeks entered in the following "Every" field).
- Monthly - day of the month - This setting allows the Job to be created on a monthly basis, based on the date in a month (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. This is also impacted by following "Every" field).
- Monthly - day of the week - This setting allows the Job to be created on a monthly basis, based on the day of the week (i.e. Mon, Tues, Wed, etc. This is also impacted by following "Every" field).
Note: The rest of the fields adjust according to the selections made and also whether you are creating a Job only or Create and Assigning or Create and Scheduling.
Next Occurrence - This indicates the next date a Job will be created.
Stop Date - allows for a stop date to be specified where auto Job creation will end (optional)
Create Job - allows you to specify the number of days prior to the Next Occurrence date, that the Job will be created
Job Name - Enter a description of the Job to easily identify your Recurring Job template.
Customer – Use this field to add the relevant Customer to your Job.
Note: If this Job is for a new customer, click the '+' icon to create the customer from scratch. You can find out more about entering a new customer here.
Site - Use this if your customer has separate physical locations and you wish to record which customer location this Job is at. For more information on setting up and configuring sites, please see here.
Reference – Use this field to input a reference on the Job.
Pricing Level - Use to determine which pricing set to charge on this Job. For more information on setting up and configuring Pricing Levels, please see here.
Job Status - Automatically assign your Job to a status. For more information on Job Statuses, please see here.
Job Category #1 and #2 – A way of categorising your jobs in a meaningful way. The default categories are Job priorities and job work types, you can use these or define your own custom categories. You can find out more about Job categories here.
Job Address – The physical address of the Job. Search for the address by typing in the job address field. Once the address has been located, a green tick will appear on the right-hand side. This indicates Tradify's ability to display this job on the map.
Job Description – Use to input a description of the work to be done.
Job Tasks give you the ability to allocate and manage specific actions or stages that need to be completed on a Job. Due to the ability to place a budget against each Task, they can also be used to track costs per stage or milestone on a Job. For more details on creating Tasks, please see here.
Job Contact, Phone and Mobile – The contact details of the person who has requested the work.
Site Contact, Phone and Mobile – The contact details of the person located on site.
Custom #1 – #4 – Use Custom fields to add information specific to your business that you wish to record on the job. For more information on setting up and configuring Custom fields, please see here.
Use the corresponding + icon to assign staff to the Job.
A Recurring Invoice can optionally be set up to auto-generate in line with the Recurring Job.

If a Recurring Job has a Recurring Invoice, it appears at the bottom of the Recurring Job screen, as shown below.
To edit the Recurring Invoice, simply click on the Invoice Name or Customer and it will open the Recurring Invoice template, as shown below.
