Configure Tradify's Card Payment Surcharge settings

When using Tradify for Credit Card payments, there are some fees involved. You have two options for managing these fees.

Instructions

1. Pass the fee on to your customers as a surcharge: The customer would see the invoice total, then any additional credit card fees on top of the invoice total.

   Note: In the UK, surcharging is legal for business-to-business transactions, but not for business to consumer transactions. Consumer Rights (Payment Surcharges) Regulations 2012. 

2. Absorb the credit card fee yourself: The customer would see no mention of credit card fees.

Configure Surcharges for selected Document Themes

1. Go to Settings.
2. Document Themes.
3. Select a Document Theme.
4. Select the Invoices tab.
5. Use the toggle Default to pass Credit Card fees on to customer as surcharge.

Configure Surcharges for individual invoices

You have further control at an invoice level using the Pass surcharge on to customer toggle, shown below on an invoice detail page.
